December Product Reviews

What a fun month December has been!  We've worked hard, partied hard, and relaxed hard!  I didn't buy a whole lot of new things for myself this month, but what I did buy I would highly recommend.  So without further ado- December's Product Review:

Cozyzone Car Windshield Snow and Ice Cover-  Our house does not have a garage, or any kind of covered parking, so when the frost started to come I found myself scrapping ice off my windshield every morning before work.  The first time it happened I didn't even have an ice scrapper so I order this one off Amazon.  I really can't even tell you why this one other than it's size, the brush, and that is was an Amazon's Choice product.  But anyway, if you're a teacher, have children, or just have to be to work early you know that leaving even five minutes later than normal can really put you behind, so scrapping ice every morning just wasn't something I was going to be doing.  My dad told me about these covers you can put over your windshield and the ice sticks to that, not your windshield so when it's time to leave you just take it off and go.  Done and done!  I ordered one right away and it was worth every single penny of the $22 I spent.  When I come home from work I attach it to my side mirrors and shut the flaps in the driver and passenger doors to secure it.  When I'm ready to go to work in the morning I take it off, put it in the passenger seat {so I don't forget to put it on when I come home from work}, and I'm on my way!  I have very bad eczema, which for me flairs up when it's cold and wet outside, so not having to scrape ice has not only been a time saver, but a skin saver too.

Serene Living Oil Diffuser-  In early November I went to a workshop with my mom about Essential Oils and their benefits.  Back at the beginning of the year I was really interested in learning about and using Essential Oils (you can read about that here), but after a little while my interest and my use of Essential Oils {with the exception of Tea Tree Oil} fizzled out.  The workshop my mom and I went to sparked my interest again, but this time in diffusing, not topical usage.  I had been considering buying an oil diffuser and this workshop pushed me over the edge.  I found this oil diffuser on sale at Sprouts and bought it with the intention of putting it in our bedroom to diffuse lavender and clary sage at night.  Once I got it in our bedroom I hated the way it looked, so I moved it to my 'office area' on my desk.  (I bought a different, more grown-up diffuser for our bedroom.) This is my first oil diffuser, so I don't have anything to compare it too, but I like it.  Our living room and kitchen is very open and since this diffuser is small it doesn't make the whole area smell.  It does make my 'office area' smell great and that was my intention when I moved it there so I'm pleased.  I love that I have options on the light- I can make it change colors (which I never do), set it to one color (which was fun as we decorated our house for Christmas and I could make my diffuser match), or I can turn the light off (which I never seem to do either).

GameDay Couture- Love this brand!  It is so cute, so feminine, and they run great sales!  Peter and I love watching Shark Tank and I remember first seeing this company when their episode aired, but I honestly forgot about them until we were in Destin with family for Thanksgiving and someone asked if I saw the 50% off everything, plus free shipping, Black Friday Sale they were running.  I hadn't, but I changed that real quick!  I was so bummed because a pull over I LOVED was already sold out {and it's killing me that now it's completely off their website instead of just sold out}, but I did find this Clemson long sleeve t-shirt for $20.  I also bought this cold weather headband because I had been looking for a cute one that fits.  This one does!  It's so soft, so warm, and so cute-all the things I was looking for!  Shipping was a little slow on these items (they did come separately), but I did order them on Cyber Monday (and their half off everything sale had been running since Thanksgiving Day) so I'm sure they had a ton of orders to fill.  I would highly recommend this company to any college sports fan, NBA fan, or even a girl who loves cute, affordable accessories!

Liquid-Plumr Hair Clog Eliminator- Why did it take me all these years to find this product?  My hair is thin and very fine and I lose a lot of it in the shower each day and we all know what that leads to- clogged shower drains.  When our shower drain gets clogged I typically use 1-2 bottles of Drano or Liquid-Plumer, whichever one is on sale at the time I need it.  Earlier this month we needed it so I bought Drano, but one bottle wasn't enough so the next time I was at the store I was planning to pick up a second bottle, but I saw Liquid-Plumr with hair clog eliminator.  I know it's hair that is clogging my drain so picking it up was a no-brainer.  I poured the whole bottle down the drain, waited 15 minutes, flushed it with hot water and the drain was unclogged!  I will definitely be using this exclusively for our clogged shower drains from now on.

What new products did you pick up or receive as a gift this month?  I’d love to know and I’d love to know your thoughts on them.  Until next time I hope you continue to enjoy your new holiday goodies and I wish you and your family a happy, healthy new year!
